The Ashera Project, Inc. is an Austin based non-profit youth development program focused on at-risk youth at Reagan High School. Ashera Project concentrates its group work on four different areas: sexual health education, connection to community through service learning projects, creating a plan after high school, and a leadership program offering mentorship to first year students.
Ashera Project's four years of programming include activities intended to:
- create and support a peer group environment with positive norms and behaviors;
- foster greater connectedness to participants' school and community;
- and initiate long-term planning toward success in school and in life.
Ashera Project approached Net Impact Austin for assistance in analyzing weaknesses in their organization and proposing solutions to increase organizational sustainability.
The Net Impact Challenge Workshop Series is a rubber-meets-the-road venue for Net Impact Austin members to apply their professional skills to improvement of social, environmental, and economic conditions in Austin. Workshops are group consulting activities to address the current challenges faced by local non-profit and small business clients.
