Speakers:
Justin Yuen, President, FMYI
Mike Mercer, Executive Director, NW Earth Institute
Discussion Topic:
Top down driven initiatives with little bottom up support were a hallmark of the industrial economy. Today, job preferences of a younger work force and the health of ecological, social and economic systems demand a more integrated and engaged approach. Engage with Justin and Mike as they describe how their tools are being used separately and combined to drive and support change on the levels of acceptance, voluntary action and innovation. The NW Earth Institute creates a series of team facilitated discussion courses supporting peer to peer, collaborative learning and action. The NW Earth Institute has engaged more than 115,000 people within their discussion course programs within higher education, the faith community and businesses such as Intel, Nike, The Standard, HP and Starbucks. FMYI currently has more than 60,000 users within organizations such as Hyatt, HBO, Aflac, and thousands of others. Justin founded FMYI after working at Nike in sustainability business integration as a social networking site you can use at work to track progress in a sustainable way.
