Discussion Topic: During this Issues in Depth call, Lisa Neuberger-Fernandez (Global Strategy & Policy Lead, Corporate Citizenship), Kyle Sandburg (Manager), Alan Gray (US Eco Lead, Facilities & Services), and Kimberly Flood (US Eco Lead, Corporate Citizenship) will discuss how their award winning Net Impact Green Challenge team transformed from a grassroots effort to a funded, corporate-wide priority that now includes Eco Teams with over 600 Accenture employees in 20 U.S. offices. Participants will learn strategies for engaging employees, measuring results, and scaling projects.
Speaker Biographies:
Lisa Neuberger-Fernandez is the Strategy and Policy Lead on Accenture’s Global Corporate Citizenship team. She leads a team responsible for the company's non-financial reporting as well as developing Accenture's environmental policy and engaging with over 180,000 employees to help achieve the company's environmental reduction goals. Prior to this, she was a Sustainability Business Development Director driving top and bottom-line value for Accenture’s Communications & High Tech clients through green data centers, sustainable supply chains, green product innovation and cleantech strategies. In 2007, Lisa launched and led a seventy-five person team of Accenture volunteers to win first place in the 2007 Net Impact Green Challenge competition. As a result, she became the Environment Lead on Accenture’s US Corporate Citizenship team to drive adoption of green practices across the company’s over 30,000 US employees.
Kyle Sandburg is a Manager in Accenture’s Supply Chain Management organization. His focus is on sustainability and distribution operations. Sandburg led the environmental analysis for Accenture’s winning entry in the 2007 Net Impact Green Challenge. Since then, Sandburg has led an internal Eco Challenge to raise environmental awareness in the United States with nearly 4,000 participants. Sandburg and his team will roll out a global version of the tool this year on World Environment Day to Accenture employees. Sandburg has focused his sustainability efforts on helping organizations understand and manage carbon emissions, from the personal to the corporate level.
Alan Gray is the Accenture US F&S Corporate Citizenship Lead. Alan’s primary focus is on Office Sustainability across the U.S. and also includes Global ISO Certification. He consults regularly with executives from a variety of fields to help create synergistic solutions to world-impacting problems. Alan has been with Accenture for 8 years and 2 years prior as a contractor. Prior to his current position, he led the Accenture F&S Team at BellSouth. Prior to coming to Accenture Alan worked for American Express where he was part of New Product Development. Some projects you may be familiar with that he participated in are the American Express Platinum card and the American Express True Grace card. These projects led to increased revenue of $300 million and increased card member spending of $1 Billion annually. Alan also served in the United States Air Force.
